Mom's Spaghetti is a boat we crafted out of pasta that was submitted in the annual Red Hook Regatta — a community event organized by Pioneer Works in Brooklyn. We raced against children, young couples, industrial designers, and the clock to ship cargo back and forth from the shore to the pier.
We created boat signage with cooked spaghetti and assembled all the mechanics in the boat with hot glue. Many spectators were skeptical of Mom's Spaghetti's success asking questions like "Do you know what happens to pasta when you put it in water?" Boy were they wrong! Our boat was also later covered by News 12.
